Phillip Medhurst presents 389/392 the James Tissot Jesus c 1896 The Ascension as Seen from the Mount of Olives Acts 1:9

After a painting now in the Brooklyn Museum, New York; lithograph from “La Vie de Notre Seigneur Jésus Christ . . . . avec des notes et des dessins explicatifs par J. James Tissot” Publisher: Tours: Alfred Mame et Fils, 1896-97. Image size varies (c 9.5 x 6.5 inches). The work was printed in France by Lemercier, who prepared 4000 plates for the different colours and various processes (chromolithography, photogravure, typography, wood engraving etc.) Tissot himself supervised the preparation of the plates and later the printing of the volumes.
